John Barrett
Set in Limerick in 1904 when tensions are high following the arrival of a small Jewish community. A young man leaves his seminary and takes up lodgings in a house owned by a Jewish widow. His superior is devastated to lose a student, but is further enraged when he discovers under whose roof he is now staying. Borrowed Robes is a tale of forbidden love set against a background of religious strife which became known as the Limerick Pogrom.
