Gavin Kostick
The play is set mainly on the night of 19th July, 1780 in a condemned cell, Newgate Prison, London.
Jack Ketch’s Gallows Jig is set in Newgate Prison during the Gordon Riots of 1780. Two men and one woman have one night left before they are hanged. The condemned spend a wild night trying to come to terms with their imminent destruction and salvage some sort of immortality in the little time they have left.
