Synopsis
Dixie and Cathal came over from Glasgow in the 70’s to live with his mother and run the family farm in Ireland. With Dixie’s energy and initiative, married to Cathal’s application, they made a great success, and had three children all bound happily together by the family’s devotion to Glasgow Celtic F.C. Their cattle start to die mysteriously, and the couple feel sure that emissions from a chemical plant is the cause. Dixie spearheads the legal and moral battle, which the family win. But it is a Pyrrhic victory, which leaves Dixie damaged by alcoholism and gynaecological disorders, and splinters the family.
