Séamus Byrne
Painting a picture of declining moral standards in personal and business life, Byrne's central character is a young feckless solicitor, Jack Fitzmaurice. Determined to restore the family fortunes, Jack alligns himself with 'Doc' O'Malley, a corrupt local politician and this alliance leads to more drinking, gambling and embezzlement.
