Conor Farrington
Set in Dublin, 1802-03.
In 1802-1803, John Philpot Curran is the last apparently free inheritor of Grattan's tradition. Guilt-ridden over the death of one daughter and tied by tradition to the Tone/Grattan idea of the duty of free protestants to the Ireland of the day. Robert Emmet is courting Curran's daughter, Sarah. All kinds of political trickery and treachery are uncovered in this examination of Ireland post the Act of Union 1801.
