John O'Donovan (1)
Set in a newspaper office.
In this farce, Owen Reid, editor of the newspaper, in between making advances on his secretary, Phyllis, is in conflict with his staff over the political pressures of the paper's owner, Augustus Belton. The endemic bribery in political life reaches out unsuccessfully to encompass the Taoiseach as we watch the machinations of poiliticians and government officials in their perennial search for power.
