  • Synopsis

    The story about the voyage of an escaped slave named Frederick Douglass. Douglass had just published his life story in America and it had become a best seller. Forced to flee America due to the content of the book, Frederick sought asylum in Ireland. The voyage to Queenstown (Cobh) was not as smooth as Frederick hoped for. Frederick Douglass was described by Abraham Lincoln as"the most impressive man I ever met". He soon became the most prominent African-American leader of the 19th century.
