Ralph Kennedy
The scene throughout is the public parlour of the licensed premises known as Railway House, situated about thirty miles inland from Dublin. The action passes between the spring and early summer of 1853.
A manipulative woman whose alcoholic husband seems at death's door plays on the affections of a young man until she attracts a better prospect.
