Paul Vincent Carroll
The action of the Play passes in the Entrance Hall of a Dublin City Library, in the vicinity of St. Stephen's Green. The time is Easter Monday morning, 1916.
Carroll's satire has a charlady in a Dublin library being bantered with by the statues of the great dead leaders and patriots of Ireland. It transpires that her son Owen has been convinced to join the 1916 Rising by the examples of the 'Coggerers' he admires who are already immortalised in stone.
