Maeve O'Callaghan
The living-room of Dr. Cusack's house in an English industrial town. The sitting-room of Dr. Cusack's new house in Ireland a few weeks later. Time - the present.
An Irish doctor working and living in England attempts to maintain his family's sense of its own 'Irishness' by all avenues open to him. He has ensured his offspring learn to speak Irish as children and later sends them to university in Irish cities. He ultimately sees them drifting into English customs and mannersisms and decides that there's only foolproof way to remain Irish. He moves lock and stock and barrell back to Ireland.
