Padraic Colum
The action passes in the Hourican's house in the Irish Midlands.
The Fiddler's House is a revised version of an earlier play by Colum, 'Broken Soil', which was produced by The Irish National Theatre Society in 1903
Courn Hourican, the fiddler, has been set up in a house by his daughters who have taken him in from his wandering ways. Both daughters eventually find love, but one sacrifices her relationship so as to accompany her father when he eventually falls back into his old vagabond habits.
