Gertrude Robins
The story concerns a poor Russian emigrant who returns home from America but attempts to conceal his identity from his parents. Pretending to know their son, he asks if he can stay the night at the couple's home, offering a bottle of vodka and some money. The old woman persuades her husband to kill the stranger as he sleeps in order to steal his money. The old man does so, and only when it is too late does he realize that he has killed his own son.
