Synopsis
A stage version of the mythological tale about Lir and Aobh who have two sets of twins, Fionnuala and Aodh, Fiachra and Conn. The international motif of the wicked step-mother comes into play when, after Aobh's death, Lir marries Aoife her sister. Aoife is very jealous of the affection Lir has for his children and she puts them under a spell, turning them into swans. They are forced to spend 300 years on various lakes around Ireland before they eventually die, their souls having been saved by Saint Patrick.
