  • Synopsis

    Frenchwoman Maxine has married an Irishman, Patrick Arnold, and settled with him in a small Irish town. He had promised her a life of arts and music, but she finds no love of culture there whatsoever. She organises a Russian ballet troupe to come and perform here, but is appalled when the local Canon denounces the proposed performance from the pulpit.
