The Exit Wound

A promenade play in three parts

OVERVIEW

  • Playwright

    Johnny Hanrahan

  • Synopsis

In Exit Wound we encounter three characters who have been marked for life by John F Kennedy's assassination- An itinerant singer/storyteller returning to his family for the first time since 1963; a woman released at last from the burden of nursing her sister; a TV celebrity for whom the events of that day remain the most compelling show he has ever been in. These three central stories are supported by a chorus of performers in their 60's and 70's and a soundscore which blends material from Kennedy's speeches and the reports of his assassination with music of the era.
