Description
Cork Theatre Company was founded in 1980 by Emilie FitzGibbon, Ger FitzGibbon, Gerry Barnes and Fred Williams among others. The company originally presented an annual summer season. In 1982 the company leased the Ivernia Theatre, Grand Parade, Cork, where most of its productions were shown. During its existence the company presented new Irish plays, both full-length and one-act, classic texts and new adaptations. Its theatre-in-education work has been continued by Graffiti Theatre Company, who evolved out the group.
