    Playwrights and Actors was formed in 1984. The company's directors were Kevin McHugh, Phyl Stafford, Neil Donnelly and Sean McCarthy. During its existence the company toured productions throughout Ireland. In 1986 the company launched a season of new Irish writing at the Gaiety Theatre and four new Irish plays at the Peacock Theatre in 1988.
