DAMIAN KEARNEY

Damian Kearney was born and reared in Cork, and studied modern languages at UCC. He was on his way to being a secondary teacher in the mid-nineties when he caught the acting bug. Damian trained as an actor at RADA in 1996-99, and has since worked extensively throughout the UK and Ireland with directors including Ken Loach, Declan Donnellan and Sam West. He has been a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and has appeared on Irish TV screens in programmes such as Love/Hate, Raw, The Tudors and The Fitz. Since moving from London to Dublin in 2008 he has worked at the Abbey Theatre several times and toured internationally last year with The Corn Exchange in the award-winning 'Freefall'. Damian was also on the Abbey Theatre's New Playwright Programme.
