Alex Hijmans

1975 -

Alex Hijmans was born in Holland; he moved to Galway in 1995 to learn Irish. He then spent 10 years working as a journalist for Foinse, Raidió na Gaeltachta, RTÉ agus Nuacht TG4. His play Aingilín was premiered at Féile 2002 in Galway, and was later staged in Dublin. He has published a novel for teenagers which is a translation from Dutch to Irish and an autobiography about his experiences in Brazil, where he currently resides.
