Arthur Riordan Declan Hughes Pom Boyd
Temple Bar, Dublin, in 1979 and 1999.
A property developer on the make, a pair of rural hucksters, a degradation-driven TD and a supporting cast of thieves, punks, hookers and cannibals are thrown together on a Dublin street on the day of the Pope's visit in 1979. Twenty years on, that street and those characters are barely recognisable, all slicked up and ready for the millennium.
