His theatrical career includes two Broadway runs and a long spell in the Abbey Theatre where he played many leading roles and directed many of the theatre's most successful productions. 1974 saw The Brother first take to the stage and in the same year Eamon formed his own production company Dublin Comedy Theatre. Other theatre work includes the Gate Theatre's sell out production of Brian Friel's The London Vertigo; Joyceman in Seville for Expo '92; a six week run in the Tricycle Theatre in London with his one-man show on the history of drink, Just The One; The Iceman Cometh directed by Bob Falls and starring Brian Dennehy at the Abbey Theatre; Famine at the Abbey Theatre; The Broken Jug directed by Ben Barnes at the Peacock Theatre; Joe Dowling's production of The Plough and the Stars; Druid Theatre Company in The Country Boy, directed by Garry Hynes; at the Lincoln Centre, New York in the Gate Theatre’s production of Uncle Vanya, directed by Ben Barnes as part of the Friel Festival; the Abbey Theatre's award winning production of The Barbaric Comedies, directed by Calixto Bieito and their production of Big Maggie, directed by Garry Hynes, and The Druid production of The Playboy of the Western World. Most recently he has become known for his role as Cass on RTE’s long-running TV drama Fair City and in 2012 he developed and performed a one man show for the Abbey Theatre based on Maeve Brennan called Maeve's House. In 1990 he received the Sunday Independent/Irish Life special award for comedy. Eamon is based in Dublin.
